  • 4 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 16 ounces cold filtered water
  • 1216 ice cubes
  • 24 teaspoons honey or agave, optional
  • 24 fresh lemon slices, optional garnish

Instructions

  1. Pour 16 ounces of cold filtered water into 2 clear drinking glasses.
  2. Squeeze 4 tablespoons of fresh lemon juice from ripe lemons.
  3. Strain out any seeds or pulp if you prefer a smoother drink.
  4. Add 6-8 ice cubes to each glass.
  5. Stir 1-2 teaspoons of honey or agave into each glass if using sweetener.
  6. Pour 2 tablespoons of fresh lemon juice into each ice-filled glass.
  7. Stir gently to distribute the lemon juice evenly.
  8. Measure 1/4 teaspoon of food-grade baking soda for each serving.
  9. Slowly add the baking soda to each glass while stirring continuously.
  10. Watch as the mixture fizzes and bubbles immediately.
  11. Continue stirring for about 30 seconds until the vigorous bubbling settles.
  12. Add fresh lemon slices as garnish if desired.
  13. Serve immediately while the carbonation is active and pronounced.

Notes

Use fresh lemon juice for the brightest flavor and food-grade baking soda only. Add baking soda slowly to prevent overflow. Serve immediately because the fizz fades quickly after mixing.
