  • Yield: 6 1x

Ingredients

Scale

12 slices deli turkey breast (raw, not smoked)
6 slices Swiss cheese (large rye-round)
2 tablespoons cream cheese (soft, room temperature)
1 tablespoon fresh chives (chopped)
Toothpicks (for securing)

Instructions

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C)
Mash cream cheese and half the chives in a small bowl
Place a slice of Swiss cheese on a turkey slice, folding the turkey meat tightly around it
Press the remaining turkey slices firmly around the rolled Swiss cheese to create a double-layer roll up
Insert toothpick at 1/3 intervals to secure
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper
Place roll ups on the sheet, seam side down
Bake for 4-5 minutes or until cheese is melted and bubbly
Remove toothpicks and allow to cool slightly before serving

Notes

Use thinly sliced Turkish modeling for easier rolling
Can be assembled ahead and refrigerated until baking
Bake on a wire rack for even browning
Substitute fresh basil or thyme for chives
Store in air-tight container in refrigerator for up to 3 days
